Jacob Shipley (he/they) is an anxiety-ridden vegetarian environmentalist who broke his femur at age 5, spent six weeks in a full body cast, and two months recovering with a walker. When he walked across the stage at Kindergarten graduation, the audience gave him a standing ovation, grateful for his recovery and that their own kids didn’t have to go through the same trauma. For that brief moment, Jacob forgot about the pain and basked in the applause. They’ve spent the last two decades chasing that same high, writing, gigging, teaching voice and guitar, acting, and going to therapy. They’re also now very careful where they step. 

 

Jacob splits time between unceded Mohawk and Lenape lands (Upstate New York and New York City).
